A good day

Wonderful weather, lots of quilts, excellent cakes, 3 demo’s and four supportive traders with tempting goodies – what more could you ask for?  Stalwart SPQ volunteers worked hard from start to finish, setting up, taking down, staffing the door, kitchen, raffle, and archives and early reports suggest that a good time was had by all.

The day started something like this –

and then things got busier so there are just glimpses of the rest-

Thanks to everyone who made the day possible – the Door Team, the Catering Team, the Dogsbody Team, the Last Gasp Team, demonstrators Maggi Birchenough, Chris Franses and Jane Lockley, traders Angie’s Quilts, Castle Court Quilter, Pollyanna Patchwork, and ZigZags – and to everyone who came and supported us.

As well as the quilts old and new, we’re hoping to see a lot of friends old and new on the day.  We’ve taken our archive photo albums out of the cupboard so we can wander down memory lane. We’re also planning on showing a few pieces from the Chairman’s Challenge too, and just generally having a good time with lots of cake.  Hope to see you there!

Annual General Meeting tonight 1st March 2012

Tonight is the AGM for the Staffordshire Patchworkers and Quilters.

There will be a brief run through the year’s activities by your committee followed by a “First and Worst” Show and Tell session. Why not bring your first and your worst quilts along and share with us? Hmmmmm – I have so many to choose from! 🙂

We are also seeking nominations for the posts of Treasurer and Secretary for the committee.
Do you have a few hours per month that you could spare to serve local quilters in Staffordshire? These roles are vital to keeping our group going and any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated by all.

Don’t forget that all your favourite local quilt shops will be there too so an excellent opportunity to indulge in some retail therapy!

See you tonight!
