Tudor Temptations

Jan Barnes brought to our October meeting some of her wonderful Tudor costumes and embroideries.  She gave us a very interesting history about how she became involved in this fascinating area and told us many anecdotes which included a tale about a vibrating codpiece.  Needless to say, this brought the house down!
But seriously, it was a most enjoyable evening seeing how Tudor costumes were constructed from the inside out and then to see the fabulous blackwork and embroideries made by using canvas “slips”.  The chance to examine her work soon had everybody down at the front tables to take up her offer.
