Our 2014 programme opened with a change. Jane Lockley was unfortunately poorly and, despite her best efforts, she was unable to be with us. Let’s hope that she will soon be better and perhaps we can fit her in at a later date.
Heather Russell valiantly stood in at the last minute and told us all about her journey from hand-sewn hexagons in curtain fabric to Co-ordinator for Project Linus. She brought in a range of quilts using different techniques from patchwork piecing to applique and stained glass. Heather showed us many lovely applique wall hangings – one had very cute owls and another had two fabulous seahorses. Heather – if ever you decide that you don’t want the seahorses any more then it will be gratefully received over at my house! I think it is gorgeous.
I’m afraid there are no photos this time as I did my usual trick. I had my camera with me BUT it never came out of my bag again.
Did anyone leave an umbrella behind? After everybody had gone a purple, turquoise and black umbrella with a turquoise handle was found. If this is yours then Marlene is keeping it safe until our March meeting.
An early warning for the AGM in March. We hope to get all the formalities out of the way as quickly as possible and then we can start the mystery project. Can everyone bring with them a small bag of scraps? Slightly more information will be forthcoming later
