Don’t forget the quilt show this week at Uttoxeter race course. It looks like its going to be even bigger than last year. The cairo tent makers will be there along with many other demonstrators, traders and of course the quilt exhibits. We look forward to seeing you there ( the spq stand this year is upstairs)
Wonderful weather, lots of quilts, excellent cakes, 3 demo’s and four supportive traders with tempting goodies – what more could you ask for? Stalwart SPQ volunteers worked hard from start to finish, setting up, taking down, staffing the door, kitchen, raffle, and archives and early reports suggest that a good time was had by all.
The day started something like this –
and then things got busier so there are just glimpses of the rest-
Thanks to everyone who made the day possible – the Door Team, the Catering Team, the Dogsbody Team, the Last Gasp Team, demonstrators Maggi Birchenough, Chris Franses and Jane Lockley, traders Angie’s Quilts, Castle Court Quilter, Pollyanna Patchwork, and ZigZags – and to everyone who came and supported us.
STOP PRESS: Apparently, there will be a car boot sale on the same site for the first part of the morning – parking may be limited for a short time, but there is parking on the side roads.
It’s full speed ahead for our Celebration day on Sunday – here are the essential details –
Walton Community Centre, Whitemill Lane, Walton Stone
10am – 4pm
Quilts old & new, demonstrations, traders,
refreshments, raffle and door prizes.
As well as the quilts old and new, we’re hoping to see a lot of friends old and new on the day. We’ve taken our archive photo albums out of the cupboard so we can wander down memory lane. We’re also planning on showing a few pieces from the Chairman’s Challenge too, and just generally having a good time with lots of cake. Hope to see you there!
